- MOUNTAIN CITY Marguritte J. Lowe, age 91, of Mountain City, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Franklin Woods Community Hospital. She was born on February 10, 1919, in Bel Air, Maryland, to the late James Willis and Vada Ann Robinson Jordan. In addition to her parents, Marguritte was preceded in death by her husband, Farley A. Lowe, who passed away in 1992; sister, Helen Collins; brothers: Ray Denver Jordan, Willis Jordan Jr., James Earl Jordan, Samuel 'SD' Jordan and Russell Jordan; and grandson, Billy Russell III. Marguritte enjoyed being outdoors, working in her garden and flowers and quilting. She enjoyed life and was always up for an adventure. She was the oldest member of Doe Valley United Methodist Church, having been a member for over 80 years. Marguritte is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Phyllis and Bill Russell, of Jonesville, VA, Linda and Bob Tyree and Kathy and Don Rankins, of Mountain City, TN; sisters: Goldie Walsh, of Kingsport, TN, and Imogene Millsaps and husband, Raymond, of Elizabethton, TN; grandchildren: Michael Russell, Wesley Tyree and wife, Marcy, Kevin Tyree and wife, Jocelyn, and Steven Rankins and wife, Jane; great grandchildren: Connor Tyree, Grady Tyree, Alex Tyree and Evan Tyree; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Mountain City Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Kenneth Wayne Jordan and Rev. Kristie Banes to officiate. Graveside Service and Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be nephews and friends of the family.
