- In memory of Milo Stowell - November 13, 1835 - March 7, 1863. Military Service: Veteran of the Civil War; Enlisted August 6, 1862 at Orwell, New York for a term of three years; Bounty of $50 paid by Oswego County; Mustered in August 25, 1863 as a Private in Company C, 110th New York Infantry Volunteers; died March 7, 1863 in Regiment Hospital at Carrollton, Louisiana of dysentery. Tombstone inscription: “Died at New Orleans, Louisiana while in the defense of his country, April 30, 1863, age 22 years.” Son of Samuel and Jane Kilburn Stowell. [Notes: His name on the stone in this cemetery appears as “Mylo Stowell”. The death date of March 7, 1863 is taken from Milo’s military records.]
