- Septimus Holmes - died April 2, 1887, age 68 years. Company B, 110th Regiment, New York Infantry during the Civil War. Son of Jesseniah N. and Martha Sweet Holmes. Husband of Olive Robinson Holmes.
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday April 14, 1887 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - South Richland District - Died, in Parish, April 2nd, Septimus Holmes, aged 68 years. Mr. Holmes was am old resident of South Richland. He was the son of Jesse Holmes, and his early home was where J. W. Bashnell lives, long known as the Jesse Holmes farm. He was married to Miss Olive Robinson and lived in Holmesville, where William McClelland now lives, for many years. There his two children, Delevan, now living in Syracuse, and Grace Ross, now Mrs. J. Smith, who lives north of Pulaski, were born. A few years ago he moved to Parish, where he lived until his death. His funeral was held at the M. E. Church in Holmesville on Tuesday April 5th, and the remains deposited in the Willis Cemetery. He was a brother of the late Rev. H. S. Holmes, of Northern New York conference.
