    • Obituary of Mildred A. Murray - Mildred A. “Millie” Murray, age 85, resident of Pulaski passed away Friday at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse. She was born June 4, 1935 in Sharon, CT the daughter of Noel and Viola Wooding Bejean. She graduated from Millerton High School in 1953 as Salutatorian and Albany Business College in 1955. Mildred married Eugene R. Murray in St. Patrick’s Church, Albany, on September 26, 1959 Their marriage lasted 50 years, and Eugene passed away July 22, 2010. She was employed as a legal secretary until the birth of her children, when she became a homemaker. When Mr. Murray retired from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1974 the family returned to his hometown of Pulaski. Mildred was employed for several years with Switzer Insurance but devoted her time mostly to volunteer work, with various school groups and more recently with RSVP and Pulaski Historical Society. Mildred enjoyed needlework, reading, and following sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals and Syracuse University Teams. The pride and joy of Mildred’s life were her three daughters, seven grandchildren and great-granddaughter. Surviving are daughters, Joanne (Anthony) Whaley, Cynthia (Kevin) Zimmer and Karyn (Michael) Howe, grandchildren, Dalton and Drue Whaley, Kyle and Nicole Zimmer and Jessica, Meghan and Michael Howe II and great- granddaughter, Brantlee Whaley. Mildred was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy, Lillian, Elizabeth, and brother, John. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, September 24th at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home 52 Park Street Pulaski with burial in South Richland Cemetery, Fernwood. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Contributions in Mildred’s memory may be made to the Pulaski Historical Society 3428 Maple Ave., Pulaski, NY 13142 or a charity of one’s choice.
