    • Pauline Charnetsky Polish - July 15, 1892 - October 20, 1965. Daughter of Harry and Maria Bedera Charnetsky. Wife of Rudolph John Polish.
      Newspaper Obituary - October 28, 1965 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Mrs. Pauline Polish, 73, a resident of Port Ontario for the past 40 years, died October 20, 1965 at Oswego Hospital. She had been in ill health for several years and was taken to the hospital October 11 by ambulance. She operated a fruit and produce stand at her home on the Scenic Highway near Port Ontario for 33 years. Mrs. Polish was born in Poland July 15, 1892 and came to America at the age of 17, joining two brothers who were in this country. Her parents were Harry and Maria Bedera Charnetsky. She married Rudolph Polish and they lived at Binghamton before coming to Port Ontario. Mr. Potish died there in 1935. Surviving are two sons, Nicholas Polish of Port Ontario and Victor Polish of Sandy Pond; four daughters, Miss Amelia Polish, Port Ontario; Mrs. Terrence (Sophie) Mullen, Brewerton; Mrs. Leon (Margaret) Crandall, Sandy Pond; and Mrs. Ann Schryver, Syracuse. She left ten grandchildren, Mrs. Donald (Nancy) Ridgeway, of Lacona; Paulette, Peggy and Vicki Polish of Sandy Pond; Kathie and Bryan Mullen of Brewerton; Michael Schryver of Syracuse and Susan, Leon Crandall Jr. and Peter Crandall of Sandy Pond. There is one great-grandchild, Timothy Ridgeway, son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Ridgeway. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Anna Frederick of Johnson City, and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Polish was a Gold Star mother, her son, Michael Albert Polish, having died at Buckley Field, Colorado in 1943. Another son, Carl John, died at the age of 18 months. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at the Foster Funeral Home in Pulaski, with the Rev. Frank Halse Jr., pastor of Park Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Richland cemetery.
