Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, September 26, 1906 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Local Notes - Mr. James A. Froude, one of Pulaski's oldest and best known citizens, died at his home in the Froude block, yesterday morning. The funeral will be held tomorrow, Thursday, at three o'clock, at the home. A more extended notice of his life will be given, next week.

Newspaper Obituary - Wednesday, October 3, 1906 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - James Froude - Tuesday morning, September 25, James Froude died at his home in this village, after about two weeks illness. In the passing away of Mr. Froude, Pulaski loses one of its oldest and best known citizens. The deceased was born in Monmouthshire, England, and coming to this country when a young man, located in Camden, Oneida County, where he remained a number of years. More than fifty years ago he came to Pulaski and has since resided here. He was twice married. His second wife, who survives him, was Miss Esther Box, a sister of the late John F. Box. At the time of Pulaski's great fire in 1881, Mr. Froude expanded so much energy and fighting a fire and this, together with the drenching and exposure, resulted in pneumonia, and since that time his health had been so impaired as to necessitate his retirement from active business. The funeral was held at his late home in the Froude Block, Thursday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. J. O. Ward, Rector of St. James church, officiating. Burial was made in Pulaski cemetery.
