Marie Balcom, 92, of 199 Sloperville Road, died Sunday at Rome Memorial Hospital.
Born July 12, 1905, in Belgium, she was a daughter of Edmond and Valentine Brys Geldmeyer. She married Austin Balcom on Jan. 30, 1929, in St. Charles, Ill.
The couple she had lived in St. Charles until 1940, when they moved to Redfield. They lived in Redfield until moving to Altmar in 1970.
Mr. Balcom, a retiree of Revere Copper & Brass Co., Rome, died Oct. 5, 1980.
Mrs. Balcom was a communicant of the former Catholic church in Redfield.
Surviving are three daughters, Evelyn Pappa, Williamstown, Arlene Barnard, Altmar, and Laura Rufos, Parish, 17 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Foster-Hax Funeral Home, Pulaski, with the Rev. John Hogan officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Williamstown.
Calling hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
