- aren L. Stanford, age 58, resident of Pulaski since 1994, passed away Wednesday at Seneca Hill Manor in Volney. Karen was born March 29, 1956 in Saratoga Springs, the daughter of George and Florence Lavallee Hartzell. She graduated from CNS High School and received her associate's degree from Broome Community College. Karen married Mark L. Stanford on July 28, 1979. She was employed by Military Clothing Store as a manager at Hancock Air Base for several years. She was a member of Christ Our Light Parish in Pulaski.
Surviving are her husband, Mark L.; two daughters, Breanne (Jordan) Barzee, and Brittany (companion Ben McDonald) Stanford all of Liverpool; one son, Brandon L. Stanford of Pulaski; her mother, Florence Hartzell of North Syracuse; one sister, Shelia (Donald) Burdick of Cicero; and one brother, George (companion Rene) Hartzell of Florida. Karen was predeceased by her father, George Hartzell.
A memorial service was held 1 p.m. Saturday, January 31, at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, 52 Park Street, Pulaski with a spring burial in Port Douglas, NY. Calling hours were held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, prior to the funeral.
