    • Margaret Horan Murtha, 88, passed away on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in Tinton Falls. She was born in Hartford, CT on January 31, 1924 to Kieran and Margaret (Daily) Horan.

      Margaret received her Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from St. Joseph’s College, Hartford, CT. She worked for Pratt & Whitney, Crystal Lab and Underwood Corporation.

      She lived in Somers, NY until moving to Tinton Falls, NJ 4 years ago. Margaret was a fantastic cook, loved to garden and sew. She was a member of the Northern Star Quilting Guild. She was a Literacy Volunteer and a Eucharistic Minister at St. Joseph Church , Somers, NY.

      She is predeceased by her husband Francis M. Murtha in 2007. Surviving are her two sons; Michael Murtha and Stephen Murtha; her daughter Loretta Angus; her brother Keron Horan; her grandchildren Kristina Miller, Jessica Angus Litsey, and Daniel Edward Kane; her great grandchildren, Alyssa Monet Miller and Mikasa Elise Miller.

      Visitation will be held at the Braun Funeral Home, 106 Broad Street, Eatontown, NJ on Friday, November 30, 2012 from 4 to 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Dorothea’s Roman Catholic Church, Eatontown, NJ on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 10 AM.
