- Newspaper Obituary - Standard-Speaker Tuesday, September 17, 1991 - Hazleton, Pennsylvania - Mrs. Stella Mattick Mrs. Stella B. Mattick, 92, a former resident of Valley View Terrace, Wilkes-Barre, and the last five years a resident of the Little Flower Manor, died Sunday. Born May 8, 1899, she was the daughter of the late John and Rose Mocarska Klimchak, and was a life resident of Wilkes-Barre. She was formerly employed by I. Miller Shoe Company for many years. Mrs. Mattick was the oldest parishioner of Holy Rosary Church, Ashley; was past president of St. Anne's Guied, and was a member of RSVP volunteer group. Preceding her in death were her first husband, Joseph Myzick, in 1943; her second husband, William Mattick, in 1969; a son Leo J. Myzick, 1968; six sisters, Helen, Sister Mary Theophila, Sister Mary Eustachio of the Bernadine Order, Sister Mary Lu-cieno of the Franciscan Order, Rose, and Stephanie, and two stepdaughters, Genevieve McGilloway and Regina Gavin. Surviving are two daughters, Florence Pietroski, White Haven; Emma Draina Myzick, College Park, Md.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, John, Chaffee, N.Y.; four stepdaughters, Marie Corcoran, Gertrude Sheridan, Theresa Egan, Dolores Dohman, and nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9 a.m. from the George A. Strish Funeral Home Inc., 105 N. Main St., Ashley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Ashley. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Hanover Township. Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
