- Newspaper Obituary - September 28, 1983 Sandy Creek News - Sandy Creek, New York - Frank Krumenacker, 78 - Frank Krumenacker, 78, of Orwell, died Tuesday morning, September 20, 1983 in St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse. He was born Sept. 17, 1905 in Oceanside, Long Island. He graduated from Long Island High School. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre. He married Grace C. Potter in 1949. She died March 3,1974. He married his late wife's sister Lucy (Potter) Sanderson on Oct. 14, 1978. He was a member of the Carpenter's and Joiners' Local 468 in Long Island. He was a member of the Woodland Fire Department, Rockville, L.I. He retired in 1972 and moved to Orwell in 1978. He was a member of Russell-Tryon Post 1435 American Legion in Altmar and the Orwell Union Church. He is survived by his wife; three stepsons, Frank Sanderson Jr. of Pulaski, James E. Sanderson of Clay and Larry G. Sanderson of Fulton; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Judith Daugherty of Orwell and Mrs. Cindy Nicholson of Breckenridge, Colo.; several step grandchildren; two brothers, Raymond Krumenacker and Anthony Krumenacker, both of Long Island. Services were at 1 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22 at the Foster-Hax Funeral Home, with the Rev. Virgil Hager officiating. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Orwell with full military honors.
