Notes - November 30, 2004 Sally L. Deaton, age 72, of Route 11 South, Pulaski, died Tuesday at her home. She was born in Pennsylvania on June 1, 1932, the daughter of Dr. Clark and Jeanette Brattager Laus. She graduated from Nottingham High School in 1950 and New Paultz College in 1954. She taught at Roxboro and Bessie Riordan Elementary schools in N. Syracuse for 25 years, retiring in 1998. She moved to Pulaski in 1976 and married Brantley Deaton on August 19, 1976. She and her husband owned and operated Deaton's Home Center for many years. She was a member of the Pulaski Wesleyan Church, was program director for Vacation Bible School, also taught Sunday School and was a member of the Worship Team. She was a member of the Salmon River Fine Arts Center, and a mentor at Pulaski Elementary School. Surviving are her husband, Brantley; two sons, Robert (Mary) Seigart of Syracuse, William (Denise) Seigart of Vestal; one daughter, Carol (Scott) May of Juneau, AK; two stepsons, Charles Deaton of FL, B. Michael Deaton of Pulaski; four stepdaughters, Christa (Ron) Phillips of Pulaski, Karen (Jeff) Santiago, OK, Sandra Litts of FL, Mary (Bob) Harris of Syracuse; one sister, Patricia Pennock of CA; 16 grandchildren; one great-grandson. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 4, at the Pulaski Wesleyan Church with Rev. Rupert "Bud" Fancy officiating. Family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church following the services. Donations may be made to the Pulaski Fine Arts Center, Lake Street, Pulaski or the American Cancer Society.
