Lucille "Lou" Moyer
September 5, 1932 - September 11, 2024
Lucille “Lou” Moyer, aged 92, peacefully passed away at Seneca Hill Manor on September 11, 2024. Born on September 5, 1932, in Stoneham, Massachusetts, she was the cherished daughter of Portuguese immigrants, Ethel and Silvio Marques. Lou received her education at Georgetown Preparatory School in Washington, DC. She spent many years in New England before relocating to the area, where she enjoyed a fulfilling career at both the Carrier Corporation and the Thruway Authority, retiring as a beloved colleague from both organizations.
Known for her indefatigable spirit and an infectious laugh, Lou cherished hosting her large family for Sunday dinners and holidays. Multilingual and a master at crosswords, she loved solving puzzles, the Boston Red Sox, and Betty Boop, and she adored her two cats. Her door was always open, with a pot of coffee ready for family and friends.
Lou is predeceased by her sister Dr. Gilda Marques, her son Robert Moyer, her son-in-law Bill Cusyck, her great-grandson Elliot Hardy, and her first husband, Michael O’Brien.
She is survived by her six children, Mary Curcio (Rocco), Michele Cusyck, Donna Gilson (Edward), Wayne Moyer (Margo), Diana Collins, Valerie Wicks, 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be celebrated at 1 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2024 from Harter Funeral Home, Inc. 9 Washington Avenue, Mexico, NY. Interment will be in Pulaski Village Cemetery. Relatives and Friends are invited to calling hours from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
