Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, August 15, 1957 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Mrs. Lillie Nelson of Orwell Dies - Mrs. Lillie Nelson, 93, of Orwell, widow of Dr. George W. Nelson, died late Friday evening at the Evergreen Nursing Home where she had been a patient for eight months. She had been a resident of Orwell for a great many years. Funeral services were held at the Taylor Funeral Home Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Kenneth Combs of Brownville, a former pastor of the Orwell Union Church, officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery at Orwell. She is survived by a son, Bruce W. Nelson of Rome and a grandson, David Nelson of Schenectady and a granddaughter, Mrs. Mary J. Nickele of Pacific Grove, California, and eight great-grandchildren. A son, Carroll E Nelson, died in 1954. Mrs. Nelson was born in Borodino, New York, September 18, 1863, the daughter of Thomas and Elsie Peck Milkins. She spent her early life in Borodino later coming to Orwell with her parents. She was married to Dr. Nelson in 1889. He died in 1913.
