    • Newspaper Obituary - July 04, 1905 Norwood news - A SUICIDE AT OGDENSBURG. - Mrs. Benjamin Denny committed suicide by drinking carbolic acid at her home on Ford avenue. Ogdensburg, early Sunday morning, June 25th. Mrs. Denny arose about six o’clock and after swallowing half an ounce of the poison she went back to the bedroom and arousing her husband told him what she had done. He lost no time m getting a physician. Dr. Stilwell, who resides a short distance away, was soon at the dying woman’s side, but he was too late. The poison had done its deadly work and the unfortunate woman died about eight o’clock. About twenty minutes after Mrs. Denny took the poison she collapsed and became unconscious. Coroner Brown held an inquest during the day. Mrs. Denny was 44 years of age and was the mother of a large family. Seven or eight years ago she received treatment for mental trouble at the state hospital. Her husband says she had frequently threatened to commit suicide, and that when she aroused him yesterday morning she announced that she had finally made good her threats., She was melancholy and despondent at times, because of ill health and it is supposed she was temporarily insane when she took the dose.
