- Earl Horace Neild - July 24, 1917 - January 20, 1996. Military Service: Veteran of the United States Army, and veteran of the United States Navy during World War II. Son of Horace Oscar and Ruth M. Laurent Neild. Husband of Lucille Mildred Hort Neild & Mrs. Alice Lewis (married August 4, 1972.) [Note: Alice Lewis Neild died April 17, 1994 in Oswego, New York and is buried there in Rural Cemetery.]
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, January 25, 1996 Oswego Valley News - Oswego, New York - Earl Neild was a carpenter for 50 years - Earl "Chopper" Neild, 75, of 155 Utica Street, Oswego, died Saturday, January 20, at Oswego Hospital. He was a native of Oswego. Mr. Neild was a carpenter for 50 years and had a life membership in the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 747. Mr. Neild served in the Army before World War II and served in the Navy during World War II. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church. Surviving are a son, Gene of Oswego; three stepsons, David and Dean Lewis, both of Oswego, and Dennis Lewis of Minetto; four daughters, Barbara Fitzgerald of Oswego, Verna Kelly of Tully, Bonnie Sherwood of Oswego, and Brenda Church of Islip; a stepdaughter, Jane Delaney of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; two brothers, Arthur of Oswego, DeWitt of Zephyrhills, Florida; a sister, Dora Ayotte of Brushton; 30 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held Wednesday, January 24, at Nelson Funeral Home. Spring burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Pulaski.
