- September 1, 1886 - Maria King, age 44 years, 1 month, 22 days, Housewife, born in Mexico, New York, Daughter of William Sears and Sarah A. Omans, died at South Richland of apoplexy.
Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, September 9, 1886 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Died - In South Richland, September 1, 1886, of paralysis, Maria, wife of Leonard King, aged 44 years. Mrs. King, in former years, became a member of the Protestant Methodist church and until her health became impaired was an active member in church matters. She was a kind hearted, sincere Christian lady, a devoted wife and fond mother, and from her home circle and many kind friends will sadly be missed. The funeral took place from the Methodist church on Thursday afternoon. The services were conducted by Rev. Mr. Barnes, of Mexico, in accordance with an arrangement made by Mrs. King. "In the Christian's Home in Glory," and "Sweet By and By" were the hymns she had selected.
