    • Newspaper Obituary - Mach 18, 2011 Binghamton Press & Sun-Bulletin - James Scordino, born on September 3, 1926, was welcomed into the arms of our Lord on March 12, 2011, while surrounded by his loving family in his home of 58 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Bruno and Angelina Scordino; infant son, James; brother, Michael Scordino and granddaughter, Teresa (Wheeland) Slick. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, who is survived by his wife of 62 years who he adored, Lila J. (Porter) Scordino; daughters, Linda and (Robert) Hunt, Vestal, NY; Suzanne and (David) Weston, Vestal, NY; Darlene and (Richard) Thrasher, Vestal, NY and son, Ronald and (Betsy) Scordino, Vestal, NY; Aunt Helen Sazen, Endicott, NY and brothers, Joseph and (Rosemary) Scordino, Endicott, NY; Frank and (Catherine) Scordino, West Melbourne, FL; John and (Edie) Scordino, Candor, NY and sister-in-law, Rita Scordino, Endicott, NY. He was blessed with thirteen grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and several wonderful aunts; uncles; nieces; nephews and cousins. He was passionate about spending time surrounded with family and friends who proudly celebrated their Italian heritage. He enjoyed baseball, horse races, gardening, golf and travel. James was proud of his 50 years of service at Endicott Johnson and was a member of Our Lady of Sorrows Church. Before working at Endicott Johnson he was a Marine veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific. The family gratefully thanks Lourdes Hospice for their kindness and support in our time of need. Funeral Services will be held Friday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 10 am. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Thursday from 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in James's memory may be made to Lourdes Hospice Program, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY 13850.
