      Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, April 6, 1995 Watertown Daily Times - Watertown, New York - James H Tryon, Desert Storm Veteran Dies ¬Retired Army Spc. E-4 James Harrison Tryon, 30, of 73 Center Road, died at 4:15 a.m. Wednesday at his home after a long illness. He had been ill with cancer and under the care of Oswego County Hospice. The funeral will be at 10 am. Saturday at Summerville Funeral Home, Sandy Creek, with the Rev. Elizabeth Mowry, pastor of Park United Methodist Church, Pulaski, officiating. Burial with full military honors will be in Richland Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m Friday at the funeral home. Surviving are his mother and father, Catherine and Walter "Larry" Gregory, Altmar; a brother, Michael Gregory, Orwell; a sister, Cheryl Gregory, Richland; his grandfather, Herman Tryon, Richland; a niece, 19 aunts and uncles and many cousins. Born November 1, 1964, in Syracuse, a son of Catherine E. Tryon, he graduated from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School in 1983. He served in the Army from 1984 to 1992 in C Company, 141st and 143rd signal battalions, and was a veteran of Desert Storm. Spc. Tryon, a medically disabled retiree, received the National Defense Service medal, a Good Conduct medal, the Southeast Asia Service medal with three bronze service stars, a Bronze Star, the Kuwait Liberation medal, an Army Service ribbon and an Overseas Service ribbon.
