Newspaper Obituary - Thursday, February 25, 1965 Pulaski Democrat - Pulaski, New York - Rites Held for Mrs. Carpenter - Mrs. Mary M. Carpenter, 78, widow of Orin Carpenter, of 1536 Fern Road, Lakeland, Florida, died February 14 at Lakeland General Hospital in Lakeland. Funeral services were held February 16 at 2 p.m. at the Gentry and Morrison Funeral Home in Lakeland with the Rev. Nelson Allen of Bonny Baptist Church officiating. Committal services will be held at Evergreen cemetery in the spring under the direction of Foster Funeral Home. Surviving are two sons, Harold Carpenter, Sr., and Kenneth Carpenter, both of Lakeland; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Mr. Carpenter died many years ago. Mrs. Carpenter was born at Elmira on August 5, 1886. She was a resident of Orwell most of her life, moving to Lakeland 10 years ago. She was a member of the Orwell Union Church, Sunny Rebekah Lodge No. 47 of Lakeland and a past noble grand of Orwell Rebekah Lodge.
